I used to pick most of the notes for the verse to Jimi Thing, and then I rememberd that it is a DMB song. This means that Dave is strumming away at the appropriately insane style to fit the song. I tried strumming it and it worked. Now I just have to learn how to do that with The Stone
SO Do you strum the verse of Jimi Thing or pick the verse?

The Stone is pretty much picked, and he accidentaly hits other strings sometimes. The way you lay your fingers on the guitar, it seems to just mute it out. The stone is 80% picked and 20% pick strum by accident.

I am inclined to not think that. Granted I haven't seen Dave play The Stone a thousand times, but I have seen the Charlie Rose version, and he played it twice at thet concerts that I have been to. Each time he was strumming like a mad man (it seemed). Maybe your right, but that 3rd finger seems to make strumming easier when he has to mute the E and A.

I strum Jimi Thing, but I don't do a full on strum, I aim for the notes since I can't do a controlled full strum on the first few chords and mute strings that don't need to be played. In fact, I think picking it would be kind of tough.
