Tab question about 'Crash Into Me'

Hi all,
I have a stupid question, so i apologize.
On the tab for 'Crash' on this site, it has things like this:

"Crash, Into Me..."

E:--------------------0--------
B:---5----------------0-----3--
G:---4----------------1-----2--
D:---2----------------2-----x--
A:-4-4----------------2-----x--
E:---------4--5--7\---0---2-2--
   2       1  2 (4)       2

What the heck do the numbers beneath the 6th string (E) mean?
Ie. what does the bottom line with "2 1 2 (4) 2" mean?
If anyone could shed some light on that, it would be appreciated.
