John mayer is definitely a better GUITAR PLAYER than dave...no doubt about it....i think their lyrics are equally good, meaning the both have their high and low points(not talking ab pitch) seriously....if you need evidence listen to the solos from covered in rain and lenny, and if you dont think he has rythm, listen to neon or his LLD cover, which, might i add, is better than daves on the guitar. i like them both a lot, and thats all that matters, if you listen to them or not.

I realy wish we would stop this argument. Besides, the more important thing is musicianship, and that too I believe is won by John Mayer. They only thing Dave has over John is voice range and lyrics. Also, Dave has a better band wich conquers over most right now because of musicianship.

I really think there should be a shelf life for threads that dont have post in a long time, unless there is a request to Kanter not to get rid of a thread. This would clear up a lot of space

From what has been played publicly, i think John is technically a better guitar player while Dave is the better musician - his songs 'overall' just make better use of melody, rhythm... the intangibles (introduced a new playing style, can disguise repetition in the vocal melody, so creative!)
