Did Dave Matthews make Tim Reynolds famous?

Yes, although he is a great guitarist Tim would not have gone very far/as far without the song writing talent that is Dave Matthews

No, Tim Reynolds is far talented enough to have made it on his own, and was popular long before he ever teamed up with Dave

I thought it was the other way around, if it wasn't for tim, dave wouldn't have been on stage back in the early days.

Not really Jeffro. Tim didn't make Dave famous. I mean he added to Dave's solo precense, but I believe Dave could have gotten along without him fine.

Tim Reynolds is famous? I don't know if I would go as far as to saying that. How famous do you think he is outside the DMB community? I'd say not.

I agree.

And honestly, I think it's a dumbass question that's being asked. Why? Because from interviews I"ve read with TR and stuff his manager posts on the TR board all suggest that TR doesn't give a fuck about fame; and someone who's that good at guitar could have easily made himself famous if he wanted to, regardless of his connection with Dave.

anyone who says Tim could have made it without Dave is pretty crazy. That goes for pretty much all the members in DMB. With the exception of Carter. :D , he could stand out in any band. Stefan hasn't shown me anything that Wooten couldn't play with his cock, and Boyd is just......well, you know...and Leroi, is damn good, however there are a lot of "damn good" saxists out there.

i don't necessarily know about the stefan comment there Jason, it's hard to be considered great or sub-par when playing with such talented musicians like dave and carter...i think when he finally puts out some jazz stuff, we'll know....and i would really love to know how well tim compares to many of the local guitar pros that give lessons...i don't want to bash tim at all because i absolutely adore the music he and dave have made, but just out of curiousity i guess i really wonder how many great guitarists there really are out there

Yeah, I don't "really" think Wooten could play them with his cock.

oh i wasn't referring to the cock part...i was just saying that i don't think we'll really know how amazingly talented or amazingly mediocre stefan is until he puts out solo projects
