My First Open Mic *Update* - Second Open Mic videos

Well, tonight was the night. My first open mic ever. I played at a local bar/coffeehouse called Radio Bean. I did 4 songs with my friend Christine. This was our "setlist":

-"That's So You" - The Rocket Summer
-"Sunday Best" - Augustana
-"Lifetime" - Better Than Ezra
-"More Than Words" - Extreme

We always play More Than Words when we're fucking around in front of our friends, it's our "famous" one. She harmonizes well with me, I do most of the lead singing. I'm going to post some videos tomorrow if I can figure out how to get it from the video camera to the computer. Anyways, I was REALLY REALLY nervous. I've never played in front of more than ten people..let alone strangers. I think it's sort of clear that I'm way nervous. We fuck up a couple times but just laugh about it..it was a really low key night. We actually hadn't practiced until about an hour before too..so we could have dedicated a bit more time to making it less messy. But I don't know if I've ever felt such a high..it was NUTS. When we finished our last song I didn't want to get off stage. It's every Monday night, so I think we're going to do it all summer. So I'll try to get the videos up tomorrow!

I know that feeling. If I had my way, I would continuously be playing open mic nights. Congratulations! I am excited for the video!

Great to hear. Playing for an audience is the most exhilarating thing you can do. I still play an open mic every now and then because I love it when new people hear you perform.

But the more people, the more fun it is! My band played for over 750 at the end of last year and I still got that same - I DON"T WANT TO GET OFF THE STAGE feeling haha.

I'd love to check it out, but it's not gonna happen with dial-up here. Glad to hear that it went pretty well though. Performing is really like a drug, you just can't get enough.

did our second open mic last night. we planned to do 3 songs but the audience was demanding another one, so we did a repeat of one we did last time. anyways, here are the songs we did, videos are to come:

-more than words: extreme (yes, also a repeat but people always want to hear it)
