Is there a reason Dave doesn't use capos?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I thought about doing that. . I think sometime in the future I will. But right now I'm using lighter strings. That helps a lot.

i use lighter strings too because i also have puny hands. it has never really affected my playing that i can remember, it just makes things a liiiitle harder and a little bit of a longer reach. i have a martin and the neck on it is thinner than most guitars i've played. taylor necks are thicker and wider, or at least that's what i've found with the ones i've played.

Guitars definitely could've been made smaller. There's actually a company that makes smaller guitars for people with smaller hands aka women. . .
...are we talking about the length between frets or the width of the neck?

Space between the frets. I've never had a problem with the width of the neck because I can move my hand to where the width of the neck is no longer a problem. It's stretching my fingers four frickin' frets. .

But I did change my strings to 'Uber Slinky' kind, it's a lot easier to play. I think I had really shnitty strings on it. D'Addario, I assumed they'd work for me considering their violin strings are the best there are. . I was wrong.

The piece I'm having the most trouble with is the last guitar riff or line, in the intro to #41. I'll probably have it down in a day or two, afterwards, I will record it and subject myself to you dudes criticism.

I happen to think D'addario makes the best guitar strings as well.

Looks like somebody will be getting a letter from me about making sexist guitars not designed for my hands.

Capos and retuning your guitar aren't really related...
