in my room during the summer its get pretty hot, but when the air kicks on it gets pretty chilly.. i just have my guitar on a stand and wonder if this could effect the wood or somthing... right now its just kind of a beater.. but i plan on getting a nice guitar once i save up.. so i figured id ask , thanks
It won't affect much on the body, but the neck wood might suffer a little bit, loose moisture and shrink a little bit (you might notice sharp frets on the sides).
Anyway, just depends on the effort you want to make for the beater...
either way never keep a nice guitar on a stand. It's much safer to keep it in it's case. The temperature and humidity is much more consistent in there. If it was just a beater I really wouldn't care.
