So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Trippin' Billies/Grey street help....

Post by T_ledbetter »

How does dave play those chords for the verse part for Grey street/or the chorus for Trippin' Billies? On the website, it doesn't list which fingers to use in the paranthesis(sp)? I find it easier for me to use my last three fingers and not the index, is that how he plays it? any help would be appreciated.....thanks

Code: Select all

E:----------------------------------
B:----------------------------------
G:-7----4---6---2----4---6---2---4--
D:-x----x---x---x----x---x---x---x--
A:-x----x---x---x----x---x---x---x--
E:-7----3---5---2----3---5---2---3--
   4 2 4 2 2 4 2 4 <-- Fingering
   3 1 3 1 1 3 1 3 <-- Fingering
Thats how Dave plays it , and thats how it basically is the easiest way to play it when you learn to use your pinky and 3rd finger ( in case you have problems with that ) to avoid too much trouble with movement in your hand , it saves alot :)

Thanks for the replies.....dusty dave....it seems kind've difficult to switch between the index and middle to the ring and pinky....the way that works easiest for me is just to keep the pinky on the G string and rotate between the ring and the middle finger... I use the ring finger when when the two notes are tabbed out on the same fret and the middle when it's behind the fret...like this....

E:----------------------------------
B:----------------------------------
G:-7----4---6---2----4---6---2---4--
D:-x----x---x---x----x---x---x---x--
A:-x----x---x---x----x---x---x---x--
E:-7----3---5---2----3---5---2---3--
4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 <-- Fingering
3 2 2 3 2 2 3 2 <-- Fingering

I don't know.....I get lost every time I switch......
