Sounds like you have a sharp saddle that is cutting your strings... I am very agressive with my strings and Elixer Nano's are my favorite string.
I had a problem of breaking strings on one of my guitars for a while, but when I upgraded to an FWI saddle the problem was solved.

I saw him play a very nice solo while playing a gold Les Paul with Daniel Lanois. Daniel opened up for DMB at the show I saw last year, and Dave sat in on a tune. "Christmas Song" is the easiest Dave tune that I know of... Easy chords, simple blues strum pattern on the chorus, easy to sing to.

I played one at Guitar Center, and it is INCREDIBLE sounding!! For acoustic guitar you will need the additional bass cab. Total package about $2,500. but that's not a bad price when you consider that is your amp and your PA all in one. And it is a very portable and cool looking set-up.
