lol. story is dave was down south somewhere...puerto rico, hell, i don't know, maybe he wasn't even there, and he was in a taxi and he saw some girls dancing and he said to the taxi driver "those are some pretty ladies." the taxi driver laughs and he says something about them being nancies. dave asks what're nancies, the driver says that they're men that dress like women. ;)

In France a Dancing Nancie, or technically just a nancie, is a prostitue. Nancies is also a common term for a DMB fan...or was...we should bring that back, seems like it's fallen out of style.

Well, here you go, again from Step Into the Light.

Dave talked about hitch hiking in africa, and how he just does that sometimes, in the old days. He would go down there, and just hitchike down there. Then he talks about that he was getting into a cab, and they came to a light. Dave asked, who are those people over there? The driver says, they are Nancies. Then Dave says, well they are pretty ladies. The Driver then said, they aren't ladies.

Then, there was a period in the very early days, when dave was actualy thinkging could I have been something else? He wrote a song about it, then he sticks in the nancies part there.

bit of a biography on the band.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/de ... s&n=507846

there's another biography...don't remember which one was more accurate, but both were pretty good, though with some inaccuracies, as said.

There is Step Into the Light and Music For the People. DMB actualy contributed more to Step Into the Light. There is actualy not an updated version of Step Into the Light and it talks about BTCS and the LWS. I forget if it went into Everyday, but I think we all know exactly what happened there since they have answered so many questions on that.

The coolest thing about Step into the Light and pictures of the OLD OLD dmb. There is one even with Dave when he shaved his head. I love a picture of dave looking the fridge, and the caption saying, "dave is looking for munchies in the backstage fridge." It is a good book, and very informative about the band. I actualy havn't finished it yet, though. If you really want a lot of info on them, that's a book you might want to read. I have also heard Music For the People isn't as pleasent to read.

Oh, also, the book talks about how Stefan's family moved here to Madison, WI for a little while, and had a music store down on State Street. YAY! But then they moved back to VA.
