I'd love to get some feedback, not only on the guitar and vocals, but on the recording quality. I think I finally have all the Cool Edit Pro settings tweaked. Suggestion are welcome!

solid guitar work. the beginning was a little iffy, but maybe that's because i just woke up and it's a bit different.
the vocals need a little more work. you have a very unique voice, and with a little more polish it could be absolutely fantastic. there were some parts where you stumbled a bit during some of the quicker parts in the chorus, and i think you're pushing your voice a little too much on some parts. like i said in another post, try to keep your voice consistent and don't jump around too much. as for recording quality, it sounds superb. great levels on both the guitar and vocals.

That was a very good job. I'm no vocal coach, and you are alot better than me on singing abilities, but it just sounded like you were pushing it, like forcing it on some parts. But, I thought it was a Great job on the vocals for the most part.
The guitar was also very good, it sounded like on the chorus you maybe sped something up, But it's hard to hear the guitar on the Actual song, so I am not too sure. and the little bridge part sounds a little off, In My opinon, probably becasue I play it with more mutes between the notes

Hey, thanks for listening. I know what you man on the vocals. It sounds like I'm pushing in parts, although my voice doesn't feel strained when I'm singing it. Weird. Practice I guess. Martin DX1 with a B-Band A1/AST pickup
1/4" to 1/8" mono to mono reducer direct to a Crystal sound card in a Dell Latitude
Cool Edit Pro to record. I apply a few filters to clean up noise and then compression. I leave the EQ flat and apply the "Tight and Close" reverb preset. That's it! The B-Band is really responsible for the tone, I think. Great pickup for the money!

nice choice on the song, i agree the vocals are pretty shaky but its not that i dont like you voice its different and kind of cool to listen to the guitar is pretty solid you break it up too much some times, but overall not too shabby man

Ha! Funny. It's actually painlessly simple. The Martin didn't come with a pickup so I added an A1 preamp (this basically allows you to "plug" in the acoustic, either to an amp or recording setup). The AST is the transducer, or pickup. It's actually mounted inside the body of the guitar, under the bridge. The A1 output is a standard 1/4" jack like you'd see on an electric guitar. The 1/4" -> 1/8" mono-to-mono reducer is simply an audio adapter that converts the 1/4" plug to an 1/8", one that will fit into a mic port on most computers. Cool Edit Pro to record and away you go... Sounds more difficult than it is.
