Nick Drake's "Chime of a City Clock"

this is a cover I threw together very quick...
primitive...some poor mixing...the "accent" track was improv'd while doing the final bouncing of the tracks...anywho, I just wanted to post something and also spread the Nick Drake word to everyone

take a listen, but please do yourself the favor of checking this guy out

Wow, that was really good. I am glad to hear a Nick Drake song being covered. Unfortunatley, I have never heard the original (I have Pink Moon, and Five Leaves Left. Haven't got Byer Later yet), but never the less you did a good job. I've always thought of doing a Nick Drake cover (mabye River Man), but haven't had the time yet.

Your voice sounds different than when I last heard it. It sounds very very good. Have you been taking lessons?

And are you really 16? Because I turned 15 over the summer and I thought I was pretty much the only one that young.

nope...no singing lessons...I actually thought they were weak, but if you are going from other covers I have posted, then yeah...probably better...

and about 16...only until next month though

As I told you on IM, I like it.. you hit some sour notes in your improving, but on the average you are getting better at accompanying yourself. The little like at the beginning of the ?chorus? like at :50 that little lick to get into it is great. And the second ?pre-chorus? is excellent.. sorry don't really know the structure of the song.. but there is some great stuff in there

OK, I registered specifically to post this: I'm a huge Nick Drake fan, and I did not think he could be adequately covered by anybody. But you brought out elements of that song, specifically the lyrics, in ways that I couldn't ever imagine. Hats off. Jesus, I cannot stop listening to this. If you want to post any more like this, don't hesitate.
