Busted Stuff vs. Lillywhite

Post by epdmb00 »

They both have their pros and cons. Like Lillywhite has sweet up and down, busted stuff doesn't. Busted stuff has you never know and so on...
Personally though I have to give Busted stuff the edge. I think my opinion is best backed up by the song Raven form both albums. If you listen to the lillywhite version you can deffinately get an understanding of why they scrapped the album. It just sounds like they're all sleeping or something.
Anyway, I'm bored and trying to kill time at work and noticed it while listening to the CD. So take this as you will.

i prefer lillywhites to busted stuff. i'm not sure why, maybe it has to do with association... i still remember the night i got the lillywhites from napster (ah, those were the days). it was right on the heels of everyday, and i was so happy i thought i was gonna cry. i'm a big fan of jtr, too.

with busted stuff, on the other hand, we'd already been hearing those songs for a couple years in most cases, so it seems a little tired to me. i guess for me busted stuff will always be that studio album of songs i like better live.

as for raven, i kind of like the old nonsense version. could just be me though..

On the way home from The Woodlands show last night, I was talking with my friend about the differences between Busted & Lillywhite.

She summed it up perfectly: Lillywhite is about wallowing in one's depression; Busted is about dealing with it.

I prefer dealing with it.

I prefer the real emotion on the LWS, BS feels played up.

which version of jtr would you recommend? Folsom or Lillywhite?
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
