So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Guitar tuning

Post by Josh »

I just got the everyday tab book. It says to tune a normal guitar down 2.5 steps to make it baritone. Can anyone tell me how to do this.

you really can't, you need a baritone guitar that is designed for that kind of tuning. trying to tune a normal guitar down that low will sound just sloppy, as the strings will have absolutely no tension, and could potentially hurt the neck of the geetar.

However, if im not mistaken, I think you can play all the Everyday song in standard tuning except for The Space Between and the lowest note in it is a D so you can just go to drop D and you'll be set... No prob at all... happy playing bro :D

There is a standard tuning version of The Space Between on this site. The hardest song to play standard is So Right because of a huge stretch.

actually, space between is easier without drop d-ing it, the lowest note that is played is the E.

If anyone is interested, I submitted a Drop-D tab for Space Between for this site, and its up under the alternate tabs for it. I think its the best way to play it. :)
good, and you?

eh, i like the standard version myself, dropping it makes the e chord weird, and it makes the octaves during the breakdown harder. though, if i had a hard time with stretches, i suppose i could see the chorus being easier to play in drop.

I like the low D chord :) I'm not sure what you mean by the E chord being weird :? its the same chord :? I think the octaves are just as easy when the strings on the same fret. but I guess that's just me.

do what you will, walk where you like your steps...
good, and you?
