Yeah, I've heard a TON of bad stuff about dualdiscs in the past day or so. Basically that they won't play on most stereos, can't rip them, stuff like that

Not really a review, but it's an interview with the Boyd from a Charlotsville newspaper.

Supposedly its only on the dual disc version. I hope this isnt true, I want those versions as well as the bonus disc on my iPod.
is Stand Up (the 14 songs) on the dual disc different/extended/better than Stand Up that is not dual disc? :?

I dont know, as of right now I have what was on VH1.com and the quality is fine but not as good as what I assume will be dual disc dolby 5.1 cd sound, so I wanted those versions.

The DVD side will have the 5.1 mix, and you can't play it in a regular CD player. You'll have to play it on a computer or DVD player with a 5.1 system.

By the way, it appears from people that have received their DD that the mix is NOT 5.1 (I could have sworn it was advertised as such) - it's not even 24-bit DVD-Audio. It's a 16-bit, 48KHz, stereo mix. (The standard CD is 16-bit, 44.1KHz, stereo.)

I listened to the DVD audio on a 5.1 stereo as soon as I got it and it sounded a lot better IMO.

yes, it sounds better, but that's just because it's enhanced stereo, it's not formatted in 5.1. the dualdisc plays in my car stereo(but it's aftermarket, so that's probably why), but not in my mom's stock radio. I haven't had any problems ripping it to my computer(in fact, i'm listening to the ripped songs right now).

i love the cd. i haven't heard one song on it i don't like. the little behind-the-scenes film on the dvd side is excellent. certainly brings a new appreciation to the album.

just my $0.02
