Whew, that was a mouthful! In addition to building the bass for Allen, Carl and friends threw a party in his honor on May 18 at the Grappa Cafe. Carl played the bass with a host of guest musicians and the entire evening was captured on video to be sent to Allen along with the completed bass. I called Carl in November 2003 to order this bass, and it was completed in September 2006. I am completely overwhelmed by the finished instrument. It is a dream to play, sounds terrific, and stunning to look at. When I ordered the bass, I asked for a 32” 4-string bass with dark woods. Many thanks to Carl, Pete, and Kelvin.
