Hmmm... Yeah, probably. I was going to put these all in one directory with appropriate file names. So this won't be so much confusing as it will time consuming downloading them all. How about I do a quick mix with just adjusting volume levels so each part can be heard reasonably as I get each file? I can then provide the "production team" the individual raw files at the end...

Can't speak for other software, but you'll need to do a multi-track recording if using Cool Edit Pro. It's pretty easy to add one track and record on another. What software are you using?

Comfirmation on the bass right here, and billy i dont think i big solo would be appropriate for Greystreet or really any solo at all, we dont need to get to carried away with our first attempt, keep it simple..

Cor wrote:I know the rule is NO effects..but would you consider overdrive/distortion an effect? I am working out my part right now, but it uses distortion, is that ok?

Again, how can I confirm that I will am this?

Cory
I wouldn't think distortion would count as an effect in your case as you obviously want some distortion on leads, but again, keep it simple.

Great:

Roastbeef: Acoustic Rhythm (6 String)
Trippin Hillbilly: Lead Vocals
I'mWithFatjack: Bass
geekmug: Drums
isaac: Background Vocals
billywestom: Acoustic Improv
Cor: Electric Leads
PureDaveAddict: Trumpet
Coldchillin23222: Sax
juineaux: Mandolin

I totally agree about keeping it simple, especially with this many participants. Also, don't solidify your parts too much yet. Some of the improv people are definitely going to want to work off what others have done and try to compliment each other...

Cool. Don't worry, I just took the "6string version" from Dmbtabs.com and strum the G and b string parts in the main riff rythm, and for the chorus, just some Chord following Arpeggieos (sp). I think that is simple enough.

As for CEP 2.0, use F12 to toggle between "Edit Waveform View" and "Multitrack View" (also under the View menu). When in Multitrack view go to Insert-->Wave from file... and browse to the MP3 for the progress track once I send you a private message with the link (obviously, you'll need to download it). Then on Track 2 in CEP, select the red R button so it's highlighted. When you click the circular red Record button on the bottom left it will play Track 1 while recording to Track 2. You'll want a pair of headphones for this so you can hear Track 1 but it won't be recorded on Track 2, i.e. you don't want to do this through speakers. You can experiment with this by using the CD version, but when you record your real track, use the progress MP3. Lemme know if you have any more questions.

Sure, but let's make this the final participant. This thing is gonna sound too busy if we have any more. So, Fatjack - are you in with the 12 string?
