Well I've been listening to the song for 9 years and I know its about Jesus so throughout the years I've listened to the words and tried to apply it to his point of view. Doesn't mean its right at all, its just what I've been able to put together

its art, its supposed to be interpreted. Good analysis Nitro, Spoon is Daves best lyrics IMO and seem to be open to tons of interuptation. Its definately supposed to be about Jesus possibly double meaning with society or anything on dave's mind. I'd say its about how Jesus was abandoned

Listened to Monkey Man today in class. Definitely one of my favorites from LWS. That chord progression during the chorus is so beautiful

I love it, great lyrics too. Its odd its never been played around with at all, it seemed to be one of the most complete songs on that disc.

Agreed, that outro is just perfect and I love the meter of Dave's voice during the second verse. Very underrated.
