My Carl Thompson Thread.

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Don't be dumb. If you really want those strings, get a 5 string.

why would he spend 100+ dollars at the least to get those strings, when he could just put them on something he already has?

it's cello tuning, and i don't know why you'd want it, but okay.

Oh the '05s are so nice.

That guy's a douche though. "I'm going to have carl put his time into making me an instrument, then I'll sell it for a couple thousand more."

cunt.

DAMNIT I WISH MY BASS WAS READY. :)

I've been planning out this baby, here's what I'm thinkin'.

> 4-string fretted
> 36" scale... maybe 38" ?
> Dark/red woods
> Simple controls... maybe volume, bass and treb?
> Have access to all frets... (24 at least)
> Active electronics.. probably dual EMGs
> Set neck
> Kahler tremolo if we can get one
> 3D scroll (that's a must!)
> Thin style body
> No face dots, except on the side of the fingerboard
> I want a place to have Carl (and les eventually!) sign it.. probly on the headstock
> Nut made for light guage strings, .95-.40
> Lightweight (like all CTs!)
> Sperzel locking tuners, black ones!

I know nothing of specific woods, so I"m gonna let carl handle that and the body shape and stuff. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

I kinda want to model it after Les' ebony bass. Not a replica obviously, but it terms of the level of fanciness/detail.

i hope when they say similiar items and mention ibanez, and dean, that they're saying its similiar because it has four strings. because i dont see how you'd want to try and compare an ibanez with a carl thompson. by the way do you still have your ibanez?

Nope... sold both the BTB and the GSR... I miss the BTB though... it was a cool bass, i was just too impatient to get it properly adjusted again..
