I don't think that some of you know what the role of the bass or a bassline is.

I think I have a good grasp on it, drummer's roles are similiar. Its not to be flashy or anything, the number 1 objective to complement the song and not play for yourself

Bingo!! The whole purpose of drums is to keep time..... What they do between songs and keeping time is something different.
