Number 41 Acoustic

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I didnt really type all of it. I have a program called powertabs. I did a powertab of 41 from the Crash book before and powertabs has an option to export as text.

I find it hard to believe that Dave played any of the guitar parts that appear on the studio recording of Crash. I'm sure he recorded some, but they didn't make it on the album.

Likely because he's listened to the album.

1. Dave didn't play electric guitar on an album until Everyday.

2. Dave usually writes one guitar line, then doesn't really mess around with it. He plays only that guitar line. All of the guitar lines on the studio recording of #41 seem to improv a little.

3. Most of the guitar lines are a little too complicated for Dave to have come up with them.

4. They sound like Tim Reynolds.

5. It's pretty commonly known that Steve Lillywhite turned Dave's guitar part down, or completely off during most of the songs for the first 3 albums.

I'd actually go so far as to say that the only songs on the Crash album that feature any of Dave's actual guitar playing are So Much To Say, maybe Crash Into Me, Drive In Drive Out, and Lie in Our Graves.

in response to #2 - he does change his lines a bit, quite often, so much to say is one that stands out.

so you are saying dave didn't write the rhythm guitar parts for the album crash? or are you talking about tim's embellishments?
