it sounds like a freakin' banjo. the backpacker is it's own instrument. it is not a guitar. it is like a half banjo, half guitar, illegitimate red-headed stepchild. if you want a travel guitar by a small guitar. if you want a banjo buy a banjo. if you want both wrapped in one get a backpacker and be prepared for the worst martin product ever.
