nice
don't you hate it though how ignorant people judge a person's guitar skills on the songs they know? "oh this guy must be better because he knows how to play a song I know!" da derp da der...
hehe. yep. a lot of people really don't appreciate guitar playing because most everyone plays it, but you do a whole lot more when you actually try learning to play it yourself.
i also hate it when people treat you like their guitar-playing pet. i have this one friend who likes to sing along to me playing. this is cool, except for the fact that she only knows one song--grey street. and she always forgets the lyrics and has to go off of me. plus she asks me to play it at least 3 times a night, i'm not kidding.

i hear ya...i hate it when people always ask you to play the same song....especially when you learn/write something new and want to try it out to see what ppl think and they always ask for the same one....
or i hate it when people ask you to play something then they ignore you and start talking about something with other people and forget you are even there (that's my biggest pet peeve)
on the subject of girls and guitars - i prefer to play them a song that makes them give you that "i'm in love with you sigh" you guys should know the one...it's the one where you know they are totally into you....that always makes me feel great....i don't play to get laid i play to get that reaction
so what do you guys to do strategically break out the guitar when there's girls around? you gotta keep it casual or they'll be onto you.
also, anyone have any real life stories of this working? in theory it looks great, but in reality.. cause it's never really worked for me and i'm even a girl, which is rarer than a guitar-playing guy.
Hey rin...quick question since you seem to be the go-to-person...PC anyway, i write my own stuff...sometimes it's sweet. but i can never tell if my girlfriend really likes it or if she's just saying it. if some dude wrote you a horrible piece of shit, but it was from his heart...would you tell him it was horrible, or would you smile and make him think he just wrote the next romantic ballad of the year?
and yes...i always try to have a guitar around...just in case

if a guy wrote me a horrible song but it was from the heart, i'd probably go on and on about how sweet he was but not say anything about his musical talent. hopefully he'd be blindsided by the praise and not think to ask what i thought of the song musically
quick question: is your girlfriend musical at all? does she play an instrument? if she doesn't, then no matter how bad your song may sound to you, she probably thinks its the best thing ever.
either way, i'm sure your girlfriend really appreciates your songwriting. even if the songs are horrible pieces of shit, which i highly doubt, it's an incredibly sweet thing to do. i'd take a POS writer over someone who could care less any day. also, don't sell your songs short-- i bet they're good. you should post some!
