Their sound is going to lack depth, but you would think they would find a replacement? Hopefully Tim Reynolds is there for the entire tour to help fill...

Pretty sure Timmy is supposed to be there for the entire tour. I think there was mention of it on his site and DMBs.

I think this is awful news. Tim can't really replace what Butch adds, only make it sound different. I wonder if Tim touring this summer had anything to do with it. Like "Okay, Butch, you stop playing this part that you've been playing for years cause Tim's going to be playing that part this year."

I love what Butch brings to the table musically. I'm going to miss him.

Never would have thought it was possible, having been with the band for so long. Something very strage must have happened for him to leave 3 days before the new tour and in the middle of an album!

At least Tim is back. I couldn't be happier about that!

Nothing big at all, he is just tired of touring and wanted to spend more time with his family. The addition of Tim this tour made it that much easier for him to leave as well because knew he wouldn't be needed quite as much as in past tours.

One of the moderators over at TDC is an older girl who lives in Virginia and knows everyone who works for the band and a couple of members of the band itself. She said there is no big conspiracy theory behind this. She said Butch has a couple kids and he was upset during last summers tour that he was missing out on his son's last summers vacation before going to college. He has another son graduating high school this year and wants to be around for the summer this time. And for those of you thinking that he has some kind of problem with Tim, she said he was just at a TR3 show in the past few weeks hanging out with him.
