This isn't the Sarah McLachlan boards. If you make a cheesy ass comment like that you're gonna get made fun of. There would be something wrong with these boards if someone hadn't stepped in and made fun of you for that.

Busted Stuff was so terribly uninspired that I haven't listened to it once since the month it was released. It was a consolation album, a "might as well" album. The band sounds completely lifeless and dull. At least during the LWS you could hear the depression. That makes for good music in its own right, imho.
I know you weren't claiming BS was better, but I don't like settling for "something closer to the DMB sound we all grew up with." It would be one thing if they skyrocketed off into a different direction, but in my eyes, they attempted to capture the classic dmb (studio) sound on BS and fell on their faces. Horrible album? No. But not on even close to being on par with prior releases for sure.

I agree. What I was doing really was just comparing it to Stand Up. In the grand scheme of things Busted Stuff sucks, but next to Stand Up in my opinion it shines.mbgreen wrote:Busted Stuff was so terribly uninspired that I haven't listened to it once since the month it was released. i just listened to it, start to finish...i really like it. in my opinion, i think its a smoother, toned down DMB, yet still the DMB of old (as opposed to the looped, drum machine, vocal harmony shit that is on stand up and..well i dont even know what to call everyday with the exception of what you are and everyday)
anyway...you know how btcs is more dark and moody, well busted stuff is smooth and toned down...its hard to explain, but its just the feel i got. where as uttad is more energized and...somethin.
anyway, i like busted stuff and if you dont, then i dont like you

Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
