Daves way of stringing guitar

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Yeah as stupid as it seems, you seriously should get one of those string winders. They're fantastic. Also a good set of wire clippers to cut the ends of the strings off.

I payed $10 for a string winder that also has a bridge pin puller and wire cutters all built into it, its a great investment:

pledge that fretboard (minimal pledge, and pledge does work, the for-wood pledge) and um.. ya get rid of smudges.
lemon oil- for fretboard
guitar polish- for body
I always love putting guitar polish all over my body

i was just wondering, do you guys suggest taking off one string at a time.. or all of them? and what is your guys opinion on extra light strings, i never tried them so i want to.. i hear it gives you a brighter sound, kind of like dave

If only Dave would try Dean Markley Signature or DR strings, he'd find out how much better they are than exp ;) . I go for .011

supposedly its bad for the guitar to take off all the strings and then put them all back on.. the release of all that tention and then reapplying it does something to the structure after tons and tons of times doing it. and its not really that hard to clean the fretboard going string by string

I have also read in guitar mags that you can take them all off for cleaning purposes, then put them back on in a "random" order. Something like G, A, e, D, E, B. I do usually change mine one at a time and clean it that way as well. I just think it's faster.
