Dave now using capo

I was just watching the video for Stay or leave from Sessions at AOL and the tab for the song on this website says that Dave's guitar is tuned to raised B, which has to be true because dave doesn't use a capo in the performance. im just curious if there is a trick to doing this tuning, i tried it on one string and it broke. I also heard you could use a capo but I would like to know how to do this tuning.

I think they're ugly and they use too much pressure. I use Shubb capos.

u cant use ur regular strings, u gotta buy some lights and buy an extra b string make sure its .16mm, throw out the Low E, and put the A string in the E position and the D in the A, put everysting 1 place up from where is usualy is, and then put the extra B string in the high E position then tune it

. Somewhere down the line i'll buy a guitar just for raised b.

capo on the 7th works, but you know, it gets hard

Doing the slides is really the only tricky part with capo 7, especially on Oh.

i use a kyser too, how am i messing up my guitar, i didnt know it was bad for it. i was wondering what it did before i mess it up too bad

it just puts a lot of unneeded stress on the the strings and fretboard and if you dont clamp it just right, the intonation will be way off.

Um, off the top of my head I would say "Oh", "You Never Know" and "Stay OR Leave" (which we've already mentioned) all use raised B. "Busted Stuff" has a weird tuning I don't even bother with. Also, if you want to include drop D tuning, then "Don't Drink the Water", "Crush" and "Bartender" use that tuning.

Raised B isn't worth it. I'm baby-sitting my brother's Takamine for the summer so I took the liberty of Raised B-ing it, and I hardly play the thing. I mean, it's cool when you learn the songs, but the novelty wears off. Plus, the original stuff I write on it sounds too honky-tonk for me. Just go with the capo.

I use one of those trigger capo's too, i never really noticed much of a problem with them but i dont use them too much. anyone know of the one that you attach to the neck and it rolls up and down the fretboard and you just tighten it where you want it? how are those on the neck and such?
