Yeh I agree with that in some aspect, especially in the early years. I was listening to live trax volume 4, i think it's in 96 or something, I don't feel like finding it, but his violin sounds awful. But it seems it's gotten a little better over the years. This past concert at hershey i was really listening and it sounded pretty good.

i heard it at SPAC, it didn't impress me. i respect the fact that they are trying a little different sound with the mandolin and the jam is nice in spots, but the rest of the song falls flat for me.
