I have never broken an elixir string, I think they're the best string on the market and the set I have on my guitar now has been there for months and they still have great tone and action. Maybe you guys arent stringing your guitar with enough slack and when you drop tuning or tune up you break em because of too much tension.

I change my strings because i play them to the point of no accurate tone is left (you play an A on the top of the fretboard and it sounds different from when you play it down low...they just won't tune)

Man, if a note at the top of the fret board doesn't sound the same as the same note closer to the body, you may have an intonation problem, not string troubles.

could be intonation problem, but strings do get harder to tune as they get older and crappier. Even I notice that

mine are pretty stubborn right now, but I can tolerate it for bit longer.

oh yeah, about Elixers....oh I mean Elixirs - I tried the nanowebs once, I thought they were very bright sounding, and that sound lasted a long time. I tried the nanowebs a second time, and progressively disliked them. The tone is bright but I the tone is.....empty for lack of a better term. they lack soul. I'll never use them again. For me, the coated strings aren't worth the extra bucks, because I'm pretty easy on strings to start with - in that I don't sweat much, I don't turn the strings green or gum them up as fast as most other people. Elixirs are also to slick for me. I've always been very happy with D'Addario phosphor bronze mediums. They have the best and most consistent tone out of any strings I've ever tried.

WHy is it the G-string that always causes so much trouble, I mean I have broken several G strings and not other ones plus I have had tot ake my guitar in a couple times to get rid of a buzz on the g-string...I mean I am sure its mostly me but it seems a lot of people have probems with that string for some reason, just curious

The G and the D strings have the most tension on them, and thus break more easily than others.
