nobody is dave appropriate but dave...if you listen to daves earlier concerts(92-94), he sound slike hes singing right out of his nose...actually,even at Luther College it sounds like that...maybe i should go and ask him how he fixed it...ok guys, so how would you rate my singing overall...scale of 1-10?

right now-6....dave used to sound nasal but then he changed....has nothin to do with age, so dont try to blame it on that..however old u r...jk

oh geez...i knew it was gonna come down to this...first off...i wasnt sayin that u werent dave appropriate but that using "soul" to decrsibe dave might not have been the write word...but for lack of a better one...i used soul...i and many others round here (meaning where i live) would consider me to be quite an excellent (ive heard amazing quite a few times...haha) singer...im not sure if i fit the bill for being able to recreate the sound of dave..but im sure i could do it pretty well....

bout postin songs....im not that great of a guitar player at all...i must say...u do play dave quite well.....so i suppose if u laid down a guitar track for a song i could record the vocals over it...i cant guarantee great sound quality...but if u gave me the guitar track..i would sing

I posted this in another thread because that's where I was when I thought of it

anyway, here it again:

Dave's singing is unique and is hard to replicate. The reason being is that he doesn't sing """properly""" in the technical sense. He sings more from the throat than from the Diaphragm - the muscle that squeezes/works the lungs. He has gotten better over the years but if your a great singer technically, than I don't think you will be able to sound like Dave does on his songs. It just won't have that same cool sound that he can create singing the way he does. Am I making sense or not. Seriously, I think if you keep singing the way your singing, that your voice will get stronger and you will develop into a great Dave song singer. And I hope I will too

nah i saw him on the other day so don't think he got banned, think he had some interesting ... um... "political" ideas, just had no idea how to express them in a way that wouldn't get him flamed, yelled at, killed, you know...
