ok, i downloaded the converter program that jayme mentioned. im just not sure how to use it. i have the 2 D+F shows downloaded and put into folders on my comp. i just want to burn them so i can listen to them away from my comp. what is the best way to do this? convert shn - mp3 then burn? im not sure how to convert the files that i donwloaded. if anyone can IM me or PM me to help i would really appreciate it, cuz doing this on a message board would probably be harder.

also dreaming tree said not to trade or share the mp3 files, i was wondering why, is it against trading policy or something?

No Derek , convert them to Wave files , you can do that by simply dragging and dropping the SHN files into the SHN converter window :)

If they are Wave files , then yes they should have the correct sample rate to be burned on a cd and work in your cd player :)

Some people just hooked up their stereo to the computer and runs MP3's that way ;)
now i see what youre saying... thats why i just went ahead and bought a big hard drive instead- i have my computer running into my stereo but it would be tough to run out of room with only mp3's... shns and videos are sucking up my space now

Because shn and wav files are "lossless" files meaning that no audio quality is lost between these two types. MP3's are lossy files, when you convert shn or wav's to mp3 they lose quality making them sound worse. To some people the difference is negligible but to others the difference is noticeable and they do not like it. So if you ever convert files to mp3 to save space on your harddrive make sure you dont trade them with others or at least inform them of their format because most people dont want them and its not good for lower quality recordings to be circulating.

Exactly what Jayme just said , and im glad it worked out for you :)

PS it isn't illegal or anything to trade them as MP3 , but read what Jayme said and you'll understand why some people are a little picky

Yes that would be fine , as it is the original format :)

Yes they lose a little quality if you convert them to MP3 in a 128kbit format , but some people convert it to 256kbit format , and that is something the human ear can't hear the difference on , 99.9% of all people won't even notice the difference at 128kbit , but it also depends on how well the recording is in the first place :)

i have another quick question. does downloading more than 1 show at once slow down the download speed? or does it just depend on how many people you are downloading from?
