my least favorite and hated chord (and i find this kinda cool) is Gm played like 3x033x. i absolutely dispise that. But like capo 2 and it's ok.
i think i really like G and the reason it's cool is cuz Gm would be the opposite (kinda).
Capo 2? so like...3X233X? that's a Gm6...sounds great when used properly...
to me, the 6 chords are the most underused and underestimated chords there are
I love them and utilize them a lot in writing...fantastic chord...they're really great for moving around because you don't have to worry about all that parralel motion crap w/ them.
Yes, definitely 6th chords.. I use a certain voicing of them all the time.. 5 x 5 5 5 x .. moveable, the root being the 3rd string (all this in standard, obviously)
C2 (032030), D2 (200230) and Aadd9 (002200) are my all time favorites.
Another form of Aadd9 I like is 002420. I love to noodle around with those to end say goodbye. The last chord of warehouse, 024100 (Eadd9?) I often play in place of E, especially on my electric. The two lovely lady chords in Crush I just love the sound of (557--- and 779--- in drop D). I There's this chord in the alternate chorus of Minarets that is something like 007604 that is gorgeous. The chords in Let You Down are okay by themselves, but beautiful when played together.
I Like A7sus4 (002030) as well.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

the first two chords are actually add2 chords, there is no such thing as "2" chords. the third chord is actually an Asus2, not an add9.
also, just fyi, add9 and add2 chords are the same thing

Add chords "add" a note to the triad and Suspended chords replace the third of the triad with the second note of the scale (sus2) or the fourth (sus4). Thats why suspensions sound a lot more dissonant cause there missing the third which determines if a chord is major or minor. Btw Fatjack it's nice to see someone else with a good understanding of theory. Now onward to inversions.
