Yeah I think I got what your saying, does it also drop super low when that happens to you? I was thinking it might have to with that popping. Also, i never said what type of guitar i have, its a Ibanez acoustic/electric.
Heres my thought of what it could be......each time it pops i start over and the more times i start over the string wears down more and more until it breaks because its woren down from being strung too much
