hehe...yup! the more the merrier. we're not saying this is gonna be good or anything, but it'll be damn fun to make, regardless of the final product.

Yeah, I think it's gonna be a lot of fun. It's either gonna come out really cool, or really hilarious to listen too. Either way, it'll be fun.

Here's a question though. Should each participant only receive the rhythm track (except isaac who'll get guitar and lead vocals) and then when I blend them all it is what it is, or should we somehow structure how this thing will be done? I just worry about everything clashing and this sounding like a jumbled mess... Maybe the rhythm guitar and lead vocals should be the default that everyone works off of. Thoughts?

probably structure it...because some people might come in at the wrong time while someone else is coming in and they wouldn't know. i think it should go in this order.

rhythm track
lead vocal
backup vocal
trumpet
mandolin

rhythm might have to leave some room for some jams from trumpet and mandolin, though.

Here's the thing: I know how to play Grey Street, but its without muting or anything fancy. Straight chords and that's about it. I'm incredibly interested in what you guys will be able to put together though.

Sounds like a good order to me so far, but let's see who else comes in. Drums and bass for example should be near the top of the list...

Again, I was thinking about following along with the CD, but perhaps when it fades out I can keep going and mix it up with some softer then louder measures so you guys can jam out and maybe Trippinn and isaac can throw in some shrieks and yells and shit...

hmm... i think that when you send it to other people that you should send the whole thing... that way each person can make sure they don't clash with the other instruments... and i'd be glad to play something if there's anything left and maybe even mix it down and master it

I was hoping to try my hand at mixing it down, but you probably have more experience than I do. Perhaps I'll give it a whirl and if it sounds shitty you take a crack at it. I was just gonna amplify each track up or down accordingly and mix it in Cool Edit Pro. So, I was hoping each participant could provide a track that's as clean as possible. Do you have more specialized equipment/experience with this?

We still need an acoustic improv and I think a bass track would make it.
