I'm not sure if knowing his tuning would be useful when talking about six string guitars. Would be kind of cool to know though.

I'd use open D if I were trying to recreate that sound.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
