don't get me wrong, I think he is an awesome guitar player, I just think he is way too cheesy as a man.

Yeah, for whatever reason I have not been able to get into JM's music. I really have no bias against him and have tried listening to his cd's. JM may have guitar skills over dave but he is nowhere near dave's level of singing/songwriting.

I think that if dave really wanted to write a solo for a song i think he definitely could but i just feel like he doesn't have to worry about that because any of the other 4 members of the band can solo in a song. Dave is an amazing rhythm guitarist becuase he plays such unusual rhythms so fluently with his "butterfly" hand strumming. I would love to just hear him fiddle around on the guitar in the process of coming up with a song. I wish i could crawl around in his head for like a day and just try and understand how he comes up with the rhythms and progressions that he does.

john mayer grew up about 5 minutes away from house, im not sure, his parents may still live there now, but probably moved
