Want to ask about strings, maintenance, amps, mics, or comparisons of different guitars or any music equipment? This is for all threads related to music equipment.
I paid $16. Still worth every penny considering i don't need to buy them very often. I'll ruin a $5 set of martin strings in a week with my corrosive sweat.
so, i need new strings and want to get these, but my guitar is also kind of ass lately.
I was thinking about buying a better saddle and getting it tuned up. The action seems like it's been getting higher slowly over time, how much you think it would be to get a new saddle and a tune up?

Set up will be around $50 give or take a few
If you get involved in any kind of fret dressing it will knock it up to at least $90 but it doesn't sound like you need that
I would do the saddle yourself but if you wnat to replace the nut you might want to have that done professionally.
It might sound like a lot of money but if you go to a good luthier you will think you have a new guitar when he is done. It's amazing how much a simple set up can do for the sound of your guitar.
Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.
Man, when i first put on those bronze elixrs i didnt think much of them until i pulled out my other guitar with the regular nano's, there is a difference. Nothing amazing but still good, i'm sold on these for now on i guess.

until now. they just released these phospher bronze nanowebs that are sweet. to me it sounds better deeper and richer than the D'darrios that i had been playing with lately, but still have the comfort of the coated strings. haven't gotten too much playing time with them, but apparently they last significantly longer than the normal elixers. and they damn well better because i ended up paying $17 for the things, and i supposedly got a "deal," but you know how guitar shop guys are.
I'd use them, but over here, ONE pack costs $49!!!!!!!

buy them online through eBay or something. I got mine shipped to me for $15USD
I think i might try the polywebs next time though. I got the light medium nanowebs and they sound amazing, my guitar has never sounded this good, but they were killing my fingers after just a few times playing, but that might also be because I have only picked my guitar up 3 times in the past 3 or 4 months.
god i love the light mediums (thanks tro jayme for telling me to get those.
