i think it's because it would be so much strain on his voice that he wouldnt' want to play it all the time. i mean you're talking practice time and then concert time. yea, closing out a tour would be the best bet.
i think i'm going to spend next summer following dmb around on tour just so i can hear halloween. that'd make on sick road trip. one of my friends did it with phish awhile back and made a documentary about it. if i go to see every show they do and don't hear halloween once i'll be quite pissed.
hosting the oscars is like winning the heisman trophy. no matter how you do in the ballgame, or whatever, they can't take it away from you. and even if you kill your wife and an ex-waiter, they still have a hard time taking it away from you

you could hang out in the parking lot so you dont have to pay for tickets and then it will be a bit cheaper that way. hehe. You could still hear the music technically. Depending on the venue too I suppose.
Still, gas prices/food/lodging/etc. would be mega expensive.
following DMB?.....might be okay. normally i find that about 4 shows does me quite well.
it all depends on the tour. imagine following him this tour....it would be pretty repetative.
as opposed to 2003 tour or late '90s. that woulda been a kick-ass time to follow him.
personally i think it would be better to just go to a lot of shows and pick the right venues. you know he's not going to play halloween opening night at a one-night venue.
Red Rocks, The Gorge, any 3-night stand (emphasising the last night). those might give you better odds

well if sometime during the school year i get enough time i'm gonna write a sample chapter and a proposal and send it out to a couple agents(my uncle has a couple books published and knows some people)and then submit it to publishing houses. maybe i'll be lucky enough to get a book deal out of it. now that, would be the best summer job ever.
