Wouldnt you almost have to begin to wonder if he has a rough or sharp spot on his saddle or nut? I cant imagine breaking 3 in one night without some problem like that... Unless ofcourse he decided to go crazy strumming :]]

lol maybe a combo of both...plus if people are correct, of which they believe they are, he uses extra lights...extra lights and long jams..heavy strum= breakage

Both my 12 and 6 are strung with elixers, and I don't think I'll ever go back. I've yet to break one and I've been using them for about a year, although I've obviously replaced them due to normal wear and tear.

Elixer lights are known for the G breaking at the bridge. It always happens. They're not horrible strings, but you have to admit they break more than any other string out there. And they sure cost a lot for that to be happening so much.

Sorry shane, but if you check out just about any guitar site, this is a fairly large problem with Elixirs. I don't know if it's just manufacturing inconsistencies, but an extraordinarily large proportion of strings will break (usually the G or D) when putting them on or after very little usage.

yep, this happened to me when i first started using them, but i haven't had a problem with them since. perhaps it just takes time for a bridge to get used to them

i stopped using them cause of shitty g strings. i went back to d'addario uncoated strings cause i just like the sound better, even tho they need replaced more.

i have a friend who breaks a G or a D during almost every set we have.. i have no clue how he does it, but he manages somehow lol.
the only time where i had a problem with the elixir strings themselves was when i was restringing. while playing ive never broken a G or a D... managed to break a high E on my electric though..

i just recently broke my first string and i've been playing for 2.5 years and have always used elixir extra lights, but it broke while i was tuning, and it was the g, but it broke up at the tuning head, very strange
(broke three strings in one night at my show last year.)
