wait....a step down is DGCFAD right.....or am I wrong.

ok so yes, 7th fret for each string blah blah except for to get the top G string to be brought down. You need to match the 6th fret pitch on the G string to the B. On the top e, do bring it down to a d, you need to match the pitch on 3rd fret on B string to the top e (obviosuly by tuning down the top e)

NOW, this is considering that you haven't tuned down everything yet. Best way to bring ALL of the strings down a half step it to drop the BOTTOM E to a D by matching the 7th fret on the bottom E to the OPEN A string. Then once that is at D, you can just do the normal 5 fret 5 fret 5 fret 4 fret 5 fret to tune the rest down a whole step. just a little tip, if you play along with live from mars you don't really have to tune down and it sounds fine.
