anyway, I love JTR too but SUAD was my least favorite of the LWS. so I dunno, I don't think there was too much "corporate involvement" whatever the hell that means. BS is a nice album. no Tim, no Bela, No Butch, just DMB. I enjoy it. I wished kit kat jam had lyrics but oh well. I think "we" expect too much from our favorite band sometimes. no?
yeah... i guess we do expect DMB's music to be exactly the way we want it.. sometimes its amazing, other times its ok, but they never seem to fail. theyre just that good

Thanks everyone. I've been a fan since about 99. MY favorite album is luther college, TIm reynolds and dave just WOW.... mind blowing. N e ways i don't believe there studio albums are that good. THere all great don't get me wrong, but the live is the best. I enjoy busted stuff very much. I knew the fact that songs of busted stuff were the lillywhite sessions but just polished, i was basically asking if their was just a LIlly white sessions cd. FOrgive me. Other than that, DAVE MATTHEWS RULES!
im pretty sure everyone thinks daves live albums are better than studio. ive never met one person who thought otherwise. daves just better when hes not restricted to anything...

I agree with all the people that say LWS are better. I do think that they are totally raw and unpolished which appeals to me. It kinda reminds me of the improvisation-ish concerts they have. It doesn't seem to have any strict guidelines. I get the feeling that the band just recorded it to have fun even though it was the complete opposite. IMO just by listening to it you can't tell that they were dreading the recording process so much. For instance, in SUAD at the end of one of the chorus's Dave says BT then Boyd goes off doin some crazy stuff. I just think it gives off a vibe that says "We're the Dave Matthews Band and we really enjoy playin some cool stuff."

Actually I've heard that DMB didn't really want to to release the LWS songs in anyway. Dave and Co. are the shit but I think alot of you underestimate the power of greedy music labels...
And I think you underestimate the power of the 4th richest musicians in the world. RCA ain't gonna do nothin to piss off dmb (at least not intentionally).

They actually said that since everyone liked the LWS so much that they wanted to release a more polished up version - Busted Stuff.

I think the best difference that noone has mentioned between LWS and BS was tying Big Eyed Fish and Bartender together... with Big Eyed Fish going out on the D and Bartender being in D, it just goes together perfectly.
Yeah I'm a little upset that JTR didn't make it (it was the first song off LWS I liked with Grey Street a close second), but its played too much live to never be released on a studio album.

if you're talking about jtr being played a lot live, it hasn't been played since august of 2001...
