ok, seriously I just listened to This Life, dude, if you made a CD I would buy it. That is a great song, great build up at the end, i LOVED when the electric guitar comes in, the little scratching sound is awesome! nice work.

you should seriously have your own domain and website and stuff cuz angelfire just doesn't cut it. if you need help making the site or something let me know i'm pretty good with them.
just listened to "This Life" again and i realized who your voice kinda reminds me of. that guy from staind when he sings acoustic songs. except i think your voice is better.

gregplaysguitar wrote:kick ass hillbilly.....very nice. Give us the low down on your set up, I'm talking guitars to mics to recording device....This recording is way better quality than I can usually get with my BR 532. What are you using?
hey greg, i've got a br532 but i only ever use it for the electric guitar and bass effect. Everything else I do in cooledit.

My setup is like this:

martin hd-35

shure beta 57A instrument mic and
shure beta 58A for vocals (both are not neccessary cause they're quite versatile... i just find the 57A too tinny for vocals)

boss BR532 plugged into

sound blaster audigy II via the rca cables

That's about it, i'm probably not using the BR532 to it's full potential. Right now it's acting as a four channel mixer with a couple of effects.
What's your setup?

[quote="Trippin HillbillyWhat's your setup?[/quote]

I use a Taylor 310 and and Ibanez Artwood for the guitars.

I run straight into the BR532 for electric sounds and bass sounds, I have a Shure PG81 (I believe) for instrumental micing, usually I mic my acoustasonic amp, and a EV vocal mic, (I forget the model number). All of the recordings on my site in my sig were done on the 532 with the exception of spoon, that was done with the audatorium recording system, and it picked up everything (even the crying baby). That's pretty much it. Were gonna get a full concert recording on the 23rd so hopefully you guys will be able to hear my band.

He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

thanks everyone... chosta, i can't remember exactly how much it all was but the BR532 cost me around £240. If I could do it again, i would just buy a mixer. The mic's cost me about £60/£70 each. The sound card was about another £100 I think.

I cant check this out now b/c I'm at work but I'll def listen to it later. Also my old roommate covered this song at an open mic one time and it came out alright. I'll post that recording later so you can check it out but the quality isnt the best b/c it was audio ripped from a video camera.

I'm an asshole for not getting to this sooner but it deserves a bump anyway.

As far as the vocals and guitar go amazing is really the only thing I can say. I'm always impressed with the production too. I wish more people aspired to create at this high a level including myself.
It would be a travesty if your not playing gigs and making a name for yourself at this point. Unless of course you don't want to persue it than I would just say go to hell. :D
