I two step is one of my favorite dave songs, but it needs tim desperately! Tim needs to go back on tour with dave.

By the way, what kind of DMB fan hates Two Step?
The kind that hates Two Step but enjoys the band as a majority. As for the original post...thats nice. Id give anything to hear two step live and I have hear it once. Im just wondering if you have ever heard it live. Hearing it on the CD and hearing it person are two WAY different things. Id be lucky that you get to go to a DMB concert in the first place. There are a lot of people that dont get the chance or people (me) that did get the chance a few times, but got it taken away due to some jerk off who thought it would be awsome to throw a knife. Im not saying stfu, or anything like that. Just keep that in consideration with the BIG picture.

The first night of the LA show this year, they closed w/ two step, and Dave royally fucked up the song. He was singing the verses alllllll wrong. It was so bad it was all he could do not to stop the song and bust up laughing.

I love the song, but I think its heyday was 95/96. It wasnt as good after they smoothed it out and lost the punch to the backbeat. I like the backwoodsy two step, not the "wow, the band is tight" two step. Boring.

I was there too, it was funny, and that was the first time I saw two step live, and it did feel a bit flat.

Butch doesn't help. I like the solo, but by the time it's over- well, it should've been over two or three times before that.

And Dave, as far as I've experienced, always butchers the vocals. He's often behind on the chorus, and he pushes the verses to heavy and rushes them a lot.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

I'll fastforward the two step on L.S. to get to Butch's solo.

To each his own.

Yeah, at a Denver Show last year, someone threw a knife onstage. It's now pretty likely that the band won't go there for a few years.

yeah when I saw DMB live, the #41 was very slow and I didn't like it as much. also Boyd sounded a bit off. weird. :|

Butch definately kills the song. When I listen to a recording I just skip to the next song when he starts playing. When you're actually seeing them live you're kind of lost in the moment so you have fun anyway. I downloaded the last show I went to and Two Step is over 23 minutes long, I was like, "WTF?? It didn't seem that long when I was actually there..."

BTW, the band is up there having fun, so I say let them do it.

i think the central park version of two step is phenomenal, then again, i can't really remember what butch's part sounds like, but the fretless work by stefan is amazing on that version. i think the fretless really added a lot. good choice fonzie.

no he doesn't. if he does, he can play acoustic guitar. i enjoy tim on the 97(?), 98 and 99 shows, like chicago. but i'd get tired of that damn electric guitar. lie in our graves is so damn long on chicago, its rediculous. tim was on red rocks too, and that lie in our graves is perfect. like some of your views on two step, liog should max out at like 9 or 10 minutes, in my opinion.
