12-String songs

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Listening to Storytellers right now. It's defiantely a 12 string Dave is playing. When he wrote it with Santana and Carter, I don't know, but when he played it with Tim and/or Santana live, it was a 12.
I've never heard the Storytellers version, but on 3.14.99, when he played with Tim and Santana, he used a 6 string.
Hmmm, maybe he switched somewhere in the tour then. He might have decided, "hey, spoon sounds good on a 12, let's try John the Revelator"

A good choice on his part. I love JTR.

12-String

I've tried playing Crash and FTT on 12 String and they sound amazing
Yeah, I tried Crash too and it sounds amazing but it hurts soooo bad after the first chorus.
Thanks for all the song ideas everyone...

For D&T, he plays Wild Horses and For the Beauty of Wynona on a 12 string.

I really highly doubt dave played a 12 string in 93. He was using his Chet (and was setting down the Ovation) and his yamaha. Can you confirm somehow that it's him playing a 12?
yes as a matter of fact i can "confirm" it's him - because just as he goes to play ants marching he says, "there's so many strings on this thing" - plus i can tell the difference in sound between a 6 and 12 string, it isn't that diffcult. please dont talk to me like i'm a moron and you know everything. the date on that show is 5.27.93 - feel free to check it out

ps - the songs i believe he plays on the 12 are - recently, help myself and ants marching

Satellite sounds like poo on my 12er.

I am going to have to try Spoon and Ants Marching. Never thought of that for some reason.

Sorry that you took it that way, I didn't mean it like that. I would never talk to someone like that purposely. All I said was that I doubt it was true, and I wanted more info about it to know if it was true. You gave me no evidence about your idea, and I was asking for it. And you delivered it, and now I want to hear it, and I believe you. Sorry for the confusion.

For some reason, I couldn't get Stone to sound good on my 12. Everytime I have to hit a note on the G string, it sounds funny. It sounded like complete shit to me actually, but maybe I suck. People have put in some good suggestions.

I like LIOG for one. Sounds pretty cool. Also, check out Hello Again on the 12, sounds pretty friggin' sweet.

Has anyone ever tried using a twelve string on top of the baritone in the space between for a second rythm? just a thought, im not really sure how it would sound.
