i would say look harder phatnev, because the list price for a 414ce LTD is less than a 414ce for 2003. so, if they are charging more, it's a dealer markup and they are trying to make some extra cash.
EDIT: i don't know where you are shopping, but guitar center and sam ash have some of the WORST taylor prices out there. i was at the new guitar center in nyc (grand opening, things are supposed to be on SALE!) and they were selling the 614ce's for $3000+, which is almost $1000 more than they should be.

From what I've seen, Guitar Centers tend to list Taylor's at 75% of list. There are MANY places that sell Taylors for 60% of list. It is true however that some of these places charge closer to 65% of list when it comes to limiteds. Personally, 1495.00 is the best price I've seen on what you're looking for.
