Captain is one of my favorite songs. I prefer dave/tim versions personally, but I do agree the LWS version is a lot better than the BS.

LWS Captain is amazing. The breakdown with just Boyd and Roi is one of the best things this band has ever done.

BS Captain is tolerable, but I don't like the lyrical changes, it doesn't seem to fit.

personally, jack i agree and think you hit the nail on the head.

lwscaptain is one of my all time favorites, unfortunately the best parts in the songs evolution arent all their. it gets me fired up so i will tear...

most importantly on the good side, the LWS version is a lyrical monster. i would say they are arguably some of the best dave has ever written. the changes for BS literally make me cringe worse than dreamgirl "e.g...love everything, love love blah". took dark wonderful lyrics and added a crap incoherent love chorus. A meaningful song has not been so butchered into worthlessness since after her became satellite.

on top of that, i agree with gianni on about Boyd and Roi on LWS. they are just great, and significantly better than BS. ill give carter and stephan BS, but i dont feel they really bring anything significant to the table.

so why don't i completely sweat LWS captain? daves guitar. the riff as played in crazy is fuckin fantastic (posted the other day in guitar forum). the fingerpicking in LWS just doesnt cut it. and the electric of BS is obviously crap.

For crazy, which i really enjoy in it own right, the way the guitar riffs are played is amazing, love to play them. the singing and lyrics are good as well, "you give..." with timmy is awesome. just about as good as "im a dreamer...". also i have a huge bias for dave solo compared to dmb, but thats just me.

so basically i listen to crazy/lwscaptain 50/50. i never listen to BS version as it upets me more than everyday and standup combined. so in conclusion- the ultimate version.

lyrics(lws). guitar(crazy w tim). Roi Boyd(lws). Carter stephan(BS). the smart money says that would be better than BTCS stone.

couldnt agree more, when i got the remastered LS the first thing i did was listen to captain.
