I keep writting decent riffs, but never get anywhere with lyrics. Not just trying to do this, but with anything. It is really starting to annoy me...*runs to the things that annoy you thread...*

I am the exact same way. That is why of the 80+ recordings I have made only two of them have original lyrics, and even for one of those, half the lyrics aren't even real words (That Place).

i can always right like little hooks aka riffs plus lyrics, but a whole song coherent and of the same subject is hard

i think we all hold our music especially lyrics to high expectations because of the music we listen to. i often listen to like that spikey haired dude whose name i cant remember and say "i could write that music, but id throw it out and start over."

im always striving to write the music i imagine myself playing and i never really get there
