Billboard Bits: DMB
Dave Matthews Band's latest studio album, "Stand Up," is only four months old, but the group is already itching to make its sequel. Indeed, according to RCA senior VP of marketing Hugh Surratt, a new DMB album could be out as soon as the end of 2006.
"They're dying to get back to work with ["Stand Up" producer] Mark Batson," Surratt tells Billboard.com. "It won't be like RCA saying, 'Hey, deliver another record!' They loved making this record."
Although details have yet to be confirmed, RCA will also issue a live album from DMB before the end of the year, according to Surratt. The group's latest round of touring will wind down Monday (Sept. 12) with a benefit show for Hurricane Katrina victims at Colorado's famed Red Rocks.

they have no input on how the albums sound...
not any input whatsoever...
Guys, it's not really that. It's just Batson's quick song writing has influenced the band a little too much, to the point where we're not happy with the sound.
