stephen harris? by the way about harris, even though BS will never capture those songs like it did on the LWS., think harris did a damn good job coming as close as he could.

As for the thought of them truly producing an album entirely on their own, I don't know how good it would be. I'm guessing it would be better than SU since they wouldn't have a yes man around, but I also don't think it would be as good as a BTCS since nobody is there to push them either.

all those songs are amazing, and crazy easy is underated. i wish i had a soundboard version from warehouse or something.

I saw a commercial for a new t.v. show on the WB and Out of My Hands was playing as the lead in. Julia Roberts is in their newest music video. I mean a lot good bands become so popular that it's easy say they've gone way to commercial but that's just the American way. Marketing people can't afford to not attach themselves to DMB because anything that can reach a large group of folks is valuable.

Bottom line, I think the band grew tired of the way they were going at recording and creating music, and there may have been other inter-band problems and it might have just been easier to name Lillywhite as a scapegoat, fire him and then just move on. ED was a breath of fresh air, different of course to the ears of long time DMB fans but still a good album, BS was very good (although the LWS cuts are much better) and now we are led up to this new release which is just terrible.

The band's genesis has been an interesting one and I look forward to DMB's future.
i wonder since dave's days of drinking and stuff are out of the equation... would the band again have success with lillywhite?

I don't know if it's b.s. or not, but the "rumor" was that with Batson's stint the guys were drinking 'shroom tea and smokin' blunts.

Either way, all I know is I love the LWS and I appreciate the entire disc!

i was in NO for the jazz fest and went to trey's superjam.. as i'm sure most of you know, dave came on stage with trey to perform a sly and the family stone cover as well as three little birds. i was five feet away from dave, and can say, without question, and wtihout a doubt in my mind that the man's days of partying it up are far from over. that said, it gave me a bit of a jaded view on the man since he was in NO with his wife and daughters (who were sidestage during his jazzfest performance). but he was fucked out of his mind when he went on stage with trey that night. he was hardly coherent, could hardly sing, and then looked flat out lost when the other musicians walked off stage, while dave continued singing (apparently not noticing the music had stopped playing).
