Alas, the name that made SU fail...
Did Mark Baston make SU fail or did DMB make stand up fail?
The end of the day its DMB or Dave who write the lyrics?
Yea it is. But it's tough to write good lyrics when u have some guy behind the glass telling u the music ur writing is good and his plans of just repeating and looping like one guitar riff over and over and then adding everyone in little pointless increments. You try it. start playing a riff and even though its OK I'll be like "OK THATS IT!! THATS THE WHOLE SONG!" then you would be like "uhh... ok...ya! that could be cool!" and then you think its cool, but really its like ok how do i write a song to this.
it was just an error in judgement to have him/keep him as a producer

Isnt Dave Matthews/Band experienced or intelligent enough to know if one of his songs is good or not? Im sure he wouldnt cave to peer presure! Especially not 12 times or whatever. Maybe the band actually like this album and who knows maybe other peole do too..............

actually ive heard/read that in the beginnin dave was very skeptical of his own work and very reluctant to play for people, regardless of how good tim said it was...

Doesn't a new album in 2006 seem a bit soon/rushed. I'd like for the band to actually know what they're doing in the studio a little bit and not go completely "barefoot."

Yeah this is a huge mistake. Its always better when they roadtest songs before putting them on an album. Just walking in there and having Boyd play one line during a warmup and then recording a whole song around that one stupid thing is not the way a band this talented should be writing music. Once again they are taking the easy way out and not applying themselves, which for us equals mediocre music from our favorite band.

Our opinion has to have some weight. How can the band just disregard it? Do they even know where fans like us stand?

i just thought i think i like the idea of them doing stuff different, because if there was another album like before these crowded streets it would be cool but if it was so simliar then what would be the real use of it.
